Well, Hello!

Good morning! I've bitten the bullet and joined the blogging world. I'm a little late in coming to the game, but better now than never. :) Mom has been encouraging me to do this for a while now. My hope is that we'll all get to share ideas and inspiration with each other and have a bit of fun along the way. I have quite a wide range of interests, so be prepared for a smattering of images and ramblings!

Sooo, on with the post! This particular image is a snap shot of my bedroom ceiling, courtesy of my iPhone and edited with the Best Camera app. I've been having too much fun with this editor and can't wait to see what else I can do with it. I'm really loving the grainy image quality and the character that it creates in this particular edit. The original was pretty drab and boring, but a couple of touches on the screen created some dramatic effects. And I didn't even have to crawl out of bed to do it. Because I needed another excuse to be lazy. :)

Speaking of laziness. Today is a day off of school for my kiddos. So, we're just hanging out and huddling up in front of the tv under some blankets. The husband is taking a half day off work today to spend some extra time with us. We are all looking forward to this afternoon...either Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs or the Morton Arboretum. We'll see what the weather looks like! I suppose we should also get started on the weekend homework at some point. Ooops. Forgot about that...

Ta ta for now!

  2. Welcome to blog land! I'm a "virtual tatting friend" of Lace-Lovin' Librarian. We share a love of tatting and BOOKS.
Since you like the effects of your photo shoot; Google the "Daine" camera from the 60's. Lots of soft-focus, grainy shots are possible. Lots of fun to play with for small $ outlay!
I'll be dropping in from time to time. Best Wishes on your new endeavor.

  3. Another of Lace-Lovin' Librarian's fans! Welcome aboard and have fun on your journeys through Blogland. It can be a lot of fun. You can be as creative and expressive as you like. Only drawback is: it is a real time-muncher!
    Good luck! Fox : )

  5. Woo-hoo, hurray for starting a blog, Alison! I tried to "race" that sly FOX over here, but she was too fast for me. *grins*

Welcome to blogland from another of Lace-Lovin' Librarian's tatting fans. You have launched yourself on a wonderful journey.

A year from now you won't believe how much your blog has (YOU have) grown. Plus it is a great way to prepare to write those annual holiday form letters. LOL!

  8. Awww, you all are so sweet... :) My mom has some great friends. Thanks, Bev - I need to check that out again. I had looked into it once upon a time...but I must have gotten distracted. That seems to happen a lot to me between my kids and my multiple interests...lol!
